Voices of the City
Voices of the City is a living archive of human moments - recorded in streets, subways, rooftops, and corner cafés. It’s a love letter to the rhythm, chaos, and quiet truth of urban life.

This project combines field recordings, portrait photography, and spoken word to capture the emotional undercurrent of city living. I walk through neighborhoods with a mic and camera, collecting fragments: a street musician’s melody echoing through a tunnel, an overheard conversation at a food cart, a subway operator’s closing monologue.
Paired with interviews and original reflections, these moments build a mosaic of identity, struggle, resilience, and beauty. Each edition focuses on a theme - like “hope,” “movement,” or “disconnection”- exploring how those ideas manifest across cultures and city blocks.
Voices of the City is part documentary, part street poetry, and always grounded in listening. Every piece is presented as an immersive multimedia experience with audio loops, transcript overlays, and mapped story routes so you can follow the footsteps behind the sound.
